DOG DAYS IN ITALY

The Adventures, Misadventures and Musings of Dino, an American Dog

Hello, I am Dino.  I am a one year old American Eskimo Mini dog who very recently relocated to Italy from the San Francisco Bay Area.  To say that my life has changed would be a gross understatement.  I have moved from a very suburban setting with rows of houses, fenced yards, neighbors, and dog parks to the country where the population is sparse and it is eerily quiet except for the tractors, hunters, and strange creatures in the night.  And, what are these people here saying?

This blog is a compilation of letters to my  friends about my adventures in my new home in Le Marche, Italy and of my travels.  If you enjoy it, I hope you will send me a note.

For now, I am keeping my nose to the ground and my tail wagging.  Ciao from Italia, Dino

This is where I live

I live in an old stone farmhouse in the little town of Poggio San Marcello in the province of Ancona in Le Marche, Italy.  The town has about 800 people.  This is a far cry from the Bay Area.  While there are lots of dogs here, I am the only dog born and raised in America, so I get a lot of attention.  But many people think I am an Italian Volpino.  I can understand their confusion because I look pretty much like one.

I was one of four puppies.  I am the one in the middle. Pretty cute, right?
